Porsche Cayenne Hybrid Only 5 Years Away

Porsche Cayenne Hybrid

Porsche has decided that they will spend the next 5 years to produce a hybrid version of their popular Cayenne SUV. And what will all of the time and money get you, a whopping 15% in fuel savings.

Are you kidding me? It is going to take 5 years to produce a hybrid Cayenne that will save you 15% in gas and end up costing you 10% more than the normal Cayenne. Sounds like a plan Porsche, nice forward thinking.

By the time that 2010 rolls around you would think we would already have moved on to something a little better than 15%.

It’s actually even worse than that. Ford has a Fuel Savings Calculator set up for their Escape Hybrid, and for me it would take about 25 years to save the $7,600 extra I’d be paying for the hybrid version. It’s just not worth it it.
